TBU Bloggers visiting Nantes Vineyard

Nantes hosted late August / early September initiated by A Journey to Nantes, the Travel Bloggers Unite (TBU), an international event which was attended by over 100 bloggers from around the world, specializing in tourism and travel.  

 

The Tourist Office of Nantes Vineyard  wished to join to this event and proposed a vineyard discovery after Nantes conferences.

 

We welcomed 4 people, British and German for a journey of two days in the Vineyard of Nantes : Olivier GRADWELL, british, founder of the TBU, Ursula STREIT and Günther ETLINGER, a german couple, et Nicole BASS, a New Zealand living in London .

Franck Pasquier, director of VLO (Vignoble Loisirs Organisation) accompanied these bloggers from Nantes on the 2sd of September travelling to the Nantes Vineyard with a mini-bus to discover places of interest of our territory.

First place, the Sèvre river. From the port of Vertou, all the group climbed aboard an old English pleasure boat called "Gratitude". Francois Lelievre, the captain of this boat made them share his love of sailing and of the river. 

 

 

Then the tour continue towards the “Château du Coing” in Saint Fiacre sur Maine.

Mr. Gunther-Chereau, the owner made them discover the working winery. He explained about the soil of the country, about and proposed to visit the old cellars. He also spoke of the castle's history and its architecture. The tour ended with a wine commentated tasting with some local products.

 

 

The town of Clisson was the final stage of the first day in the Nantes Vineyard.

Clisson,  gem of the Nantes Vineyard, is this town with a unique character, both Breton and Italian together, Tuscany in Britanny.

Guided tour of the city conducted by Thierry, guide-lecturer of the Tourist Office. 

Then they continued with the visit of the medieval castle of Clisson .

The next morning, on 3th September Franck picked up the group and travelled throuqht the vineyard to  the Loire Valley.

Claude Janin, professional fisherman from Saint Julien de Concelles was waiting to propose them a boat tour over the Loire accompanied by gourmet tastings of local products made ​​with fish from the Loire.

 

 

Before returning to Nantes, the trip in the Vineyard Nantes could not end without a discovery of the Loire gastronomy.

The restaurant “Clemence “ in Saint Julien de Concelles welcomed the group. Aurélie Batard even explained them the recipe of the Nantes "white butter" . 

 

 

 

Thanks to bloggers for having choosed the vineyard of Nantes and all partners of the Tourist Office who welcomed them.

The visit allows the destination Nantes Vineyard to give an international dimension.
