Conceived by Jean Blaise, creator of the Voyage à Nantes, the Voyage dans Le Vignoble wine route winds its way through the vineyards to discover the must-see sites of the Nantes vineyards and the landscapes for which they are famous. The Voyage dans le Vignoble is also a gastronomic and tasting experience based around the Muscadet and its local crus.

Take the Voyage dans le Vignoble route and let yourself be charmed by authentic places, small typical villages and exceptional wine estates.

Every year, new suggestions are added to the Voyage dans le Vignoble itinerary, so you can discover the sites and stages on foot, by bike or by train.

With the help of 100 Détours, a company specialising in the recycling of wooden exterior joinery, the site – on the banks of the Sèvre river – has been transformed since 2016 with submersible fixed furniture (benches and platforms to be shared under the name of “Embarkation I and II”); and since summer 2020, it has been home to a play area: Embarkation III.

The Butte de la Rochein Loroux-Bottereau

At the top of the ridge (47 metres), the Butte de la Roche offers an orientation table and invites you to identify the surrounding bell towers, the Château de Goulaine, the town of Nantes and the Loire Valley. The scenery is superb whatever the season. And the perfect place to watch the sun set over the vines!

La Chaussée des moinesin Vertou

Around the year 1000, monks built this causeway over the Sèvre Nantaise. The old 12km towpath linking Nantes to Vertou offers walkers and cyclists a protected route along the river. Today, the Chaussée des Moines is very much alive and kicking, with a host of activities on offer including river walks and restaurants.

The Château de la FrémoireA trip in Muscadet to Vertou

Château de la Frémoire is a 19th-century “Folie nantaise” with English-style grounds.
The château was acquired in the 1980s by the wine industry, which now uses it as its business premises. Discover the pillars of the Muscadet through an immersive scenography featuring a wine bar, a restaurant, a mediation area and a bucolic garden. A “Journey into Muscadet” with surprising wines and refined food created by chef Joanna Page. In a nod to Jules Verne, the place tells its own extraordinary story.

Le Porte-Vue Vertigo and beauty at the heart of the Voyage dans le Vignoble

Suspended between the sky and the vines, Emmanuel Ritz’s Porte-Vue offers one of the most striking panoramas of the Voyage dans le Vignoble. At Château-Thébaud, this daring footbridge seems to float above the Maine, linking the granite of the cliffs to the light of the landscape. A veritable Corten steel sculpture stretching out into the void, it invites you to contemplate the area in a different way.
