Description
From 23 September to 18 October 2025, during opening hours, in the network's libraries
✂️ An encounter with cut paper
Amandine Momenceau, an author and illustrator from Nantes, specialises in the delicate and poetic art of paper-cutting. With a degree in art history from Rennes, she has always combined her two passions - storytelling and paper - to create images by superimposing, cutting, folding and unfolding, creating a lively visual dynamic.
Influenced by Bruno Munari, Katsumi Komagata and historical sources (medieval manuscripts, Aztec art, Asian theatre, etc.), her graphic universe reveals a remarkable narrative finesse.
🎭 Paper theatre
The exhibition entitled Le théâtre de papier invites the public to enter a world of animated stories. Between vivid graphic origins and shapes sculpted in the void, Amandine stages her characters as if in a kamishibai, revealing the backstage of her process: sketches, models, superimposed images creating surprise effects with each cut .
📚 A committed artist
In addition to the exhibition, Amandine is developing illustration workshops for children, in which she encourages everyone to explore their creativity around cutting and collage, in close connection with the children's books she illustrates
