Exposition de Vallet Mémoires : Vallet et ses prisonniers pendant la guerre 39-45

Discover the history of Vallet and its prisoners during the 1939-1945 war through this exhibition.

Description

To mark the commemoration of 11 November, Vallet Mémoires is putting on an exhibition entitled "Vallet and its prisoners during the 1939-1945 war".
It consists of 24 panels that will be on display to the public in the town hall atrium from 4 to 16 November, during opening hours and on Sunday mornings from 10am to 12pm. The panels explain the key dates of this period, before dwelling at greater length on the prisoners in Valletta, using maps to show where the stalags were located. The exhibition includes personal accounts of the living conditions of prisoners in the camps. It also looks at refugees, the life of the people of Valletta during the occupation, restrictions, requisitions and the organisation of festivities in support of the prisoners.
The association will be offering visitors a brochure summarising the exhibition.
Contact: valletmemoires44330@gmail.com or salle Jean-Baptiste Cesbron on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 12pm and Thursday afternoons from 3pm to 6pm.
