Exposition “Inconnues ?”

Description

From 26 June to 10 November 2025, the new exhibition at the Musée du Vignoble Nantais will present thirteen portraits of women who lived in the area between the 14th and 20th centuries. Clémence Lefeuvre, Claire Doré-Graslin, Marguerite Lemot, you may know a street named after them, an anecdote, a legend, but what do we know about them? But what do we know about them? This exhibition is a tribute to local memory. It sheds light on a facet of history that is often overlooked or incomplete, and on destinies that sometimes run counter to current prejudices. The aim of this project is to rebalance the presence of women in the collective memory, to give us a more accurate picture of our local heritage. Around the exhibition: A special programme has been planned around the exhibition. Guided tours will take you to the places where our protagonists lived. "There will also be a "Women of Clisson" tour of the historic centre of Clisson, a "Women of Goulaine" tour in partnership with the Château de Goulaine, and a paper-making workshop at the Séchoir du Liveau, built by Adélaïde-Marguerite Geslin. On Saturday 7 June, go behind the scenes of the research behind the exhibition with a talk entitled "Talking about unknown women". On Thursday 26 June, there will also be a round-table discussion on "Women in viticulture: a long conquest". Finally, guided tours of the exhibition are also available on Sundays and Tuesdays in July and August, and on Wednesdays in September.
