Description
Jo Landron's father, Pierre Landron, left a message for his son in 1990: "Do quality, it will always pay off".
The heritage of a vineyard planted on the slopes of the Sèvre and the experience shared over several years with his father guide his philosophy: "the quest for quality and the identity of my wines through their balance, respect for the vines and the terroir".
Organic and biodynamic viticulture are thus an obvious choice.
These practices are inseparable from the word QUALITY!
1999: The Domaine began converting 20 hectares of its vineyards to organic farming.
2002: AB certification by Ecocert.
2006: Start of biodynamic viticulture on 14ha.
2011: Biodynamic certification (BIODYVIN) for the entire vineyard.
We use organic growing methods that do not involve the use of chemicals.
Our philosophy in the service of quality: Muscadet must be the true expression of its terroir, reflected in the minerality of the wine. The richness and originality of our vineyards lie in the diversity of the sub-soils that make them up. Only by working the soil and respecting the vines through organic farming can their full personality be expressed.
We draw our inspiration from ancient methods of vinification on the lees. The hand-picked grapes are pressed to extract only the best juice, and vinification is carried out separately according to the terroir. The juice ferments with indigenous yeasts for 15 days. Depending on the terroir, the wine is aged on its lees for 7 to 24 months. This method preserves the freshness and finesse of authentic Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur Lie.
Jo Landron has been defending the Muscadet appellation since the 1990s. He was one of the first to highlight the terroir characteristics of his parcels in his cuvées.
In 2021, Hélène and her husband Nicolas returned to the estate with animals in the vineyard (sheep, pigs), further developing biodiversity on the estate.
