Get on your bike and discover the Nantes vineyards, a family outing. This route is part of the Vélidéale cycle route.
Description
Leaving from Vertou, you'll be crossing the largest wine-growing area in France, with 600 hectares of AOC Muscadet! La Chaussée des Moines is the ideal place to relax, sail or enjoy a snack on a bright summer's day. The route follows the north-south cycle route and the towpath of the Sèvre. A family trail par excellence.
The route has been adapted to allow cyclists to cross the Nantes vineyards and discover them in a bucolic and original way. You're in the heart of the largest wine-growing area in the metropolis. You'll arrive at the port of La Haye-Fouassière, an ideal spot for picnics, summer walks and meetings with fishermen and freshwater sailors. After lunch, pedal through the vineyards back to Le Pallet, where you can stop off at the Musée du vignoble nantais, with its 500 objects relating to wine and the region in architecture designed by Jean-Claude Pondevie.
