Handed down from father to son since 1947, the Marchais vineyard extends over 3 terroirs. Philippe Marchais organises his vineyards using integrated farming methods, with the aim of producing rich, diversified wines.
It all began in the 1950s, in Loroux-Bottereau in the heart of the Muscadet region. Rogatien Marchais, fascinated by the vineyards, invested in a small plot of vines...
His passion for vines was soon passed on to his youngest son, Philippe, who took over the estate in the 1980s.
Philippe enlarged the family vineyard and extended it across the Loire to Thouaré and then to Mauves-sur-Loire. Using sustainable farming methods, he developed the estate with the idea of producing rich, diversified AOC du Nantais, Coteaux d'Ancenis, IGP du Val de Loire and Vins de France wines.
Philippe loves to share his passion for wine with others, so he set about creating a winery in Thouaré-sur-Loire, with the aim of creating a place for people to exchange ideas and share their passion for wine.

A friendly, authentic space divided into two distinct areas:
- The cellar dedicated to direct sales and tasting: discover the wines of the Nantais region with the Marchais family's production (AOC du Nantais, Coteaux d'Ancenis, IGP du Val de Loire and Vins de France), the collective of partner winemakers for a wide variety of wines: from the Loire, Burgundy, Bordeaux, etc.
- The reception room: gather in our modernly designed, authentically charming room.
- The Night in a Barrel: this is also a pack that lets you discover the winegrowing profession, with a free bottle, overnight stay and breakfast.
