The Château de Goulaine A testament to the gentle way of life on the banks of the Loire

The foundations of the château are over 1,000 years old. At the time, this medieval fortress was responsible for defending the Duchy of Brittany.

Today, visitors will discover a sumptuous Renaissance château built of tufa stone at the end of the 15th century and the residence of the same family for almost 1,000 years. The ramparts overlook a medieval moat. The vast two-hectare formal garden overlooks the Goulaine marshes, classified Natura 2000.

Every nook and cranny of the Château de Goulaine becomes, for a time, the setting for a forgotten story. Follow Yule, the young hero as he embarks on a journey through a world of nisses, witches and magic wardrobes. From the farthest reaches of the Pole to the toy shop of old Hazelius, via the mysterious post office, this family show unveils a founding myth: that of the very first Christmas.

In an immersive staging, more than 100 actors and extras take you on an unprecedented journey. Grandiose scenery, colourful costumes and spellbinding music follow one another on a captivating journey through the castle’s rooms. A timeless experience for young and old alike.
