Leaving from the Chêne lake, the route quickly moves on to the wide sandy expanses of the market gardens where the famous Nantes lamb's lettuce is grown, as well as radishes, leeks, carrots and lily of the valley! Once past this long plateau, the river and sea world of the Loire comes into view, with its dykes (Levée de la Divatte), stone houses from the old mariners' villages, slipways and other mooring rings.
