A must-see destination in the heart of the Vignoble Nantais, the town of Clisson promises an unforgettable journey through heritage, nature and culture. Visit Clisson and discover its castle, river, cobbled streets and Italian architecture.

Take a stroll through the town or a guided tour of Clisson, and embark on a journey back in time to the Middle Ages and Italian architecture.

A visit to the Château de Clisson, built between the 11th and 17th centuries, will take you back in time and introduce you to the defensive architecture while enjoying panoramic views over the town from its ramparts.

Beneath Clisson's majestic wooden market hall, one of the largest and oldest in France, you'll be transported by the vibrant atmosphere of days gone by, where the town market is still held on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

You'll soon feel like you're in a real Italian landscape. Antique-style tiles, thin bricks, umbrella pines, giant cypresses... there's no doubt that François Fédéric Lemot's trip to Italy, when he redesigned the town in the 19th century, had a strong southern flavour.
