The Saint Simon chapel takes its name from the patron saint of fishermen and bargemen.
It was built in the 16th century on the site of an earlier sanctuary, probably erected by the inhabitants of Mauves at the instigation of the canons of Marmoutier, an order founded by Saint Martin of Tours.
It was restored in 1775.
On 24 May 1794, René Jousseaume was executed by the "Colonnes Infernales" => commemorative plaque.
It is rectangular in plan and topped by a bell tower, with no great style or ornamentation.
In 1920, a parchment was discovered mentioning that the chapel had been blessed by Cardinal de Richelieu in 1640.
In 1955, the villagers formed an association and began restoration work.
In 1961, a fresco depicting regional trades was painted by Georges Riom.
On the façade: flood heights of 1711, 1783, 1856 and 1866.
Often abandoned and constantly restored, today it is still the property of the Diocesan Association.
