The historic Chateau de Clisson is a model of a fortified castle.

Long an impregnable fortress, the Château de Clisson is a model of a fortified castle. Built by the powerful de Clisson family from the 12th century onwards, the castle became a strategic point protecting the border of the Duchy of Brittany in the 15th century. In 1793, during the Vendée War, the fortress was burnt down and partially destroyed. Today, the Château de Clisson still boasts numerous examples of defensive architecture, including archways, gunports and stunners.

From February to December, heritage mediators accompany you on an in-depth tour of the château.
During the school holidays, there are family workshops to develop the creativity and arouse the curiosity of parents and children!
