Our tour gives visitors an insight into our local specialities: our "Melon B dit Melon de Bourgogne" grape variety is unique in the world. It is grown in several different terroirs, as Muscadet is the largest dry white wine-growing area in Europe. The tour begins outside with a look at the history of the château, which dates back to several periods of construction: the Directoire period and the Italianate style typical of the 19th century. The tour continues in a plot of vines to discover the grape variety and its terroirs. Finally, there's a tour of our historic cellars and an introduction to "sur lie" winemaking, a term unique to Muscadets. During the tasting, you'll be able to discover the typical characteristics of our wines. We specialise in top-of-the-range wines with terroir and character. We are renowned for our traditional Muscadets, but also for our 20-year-old vintage wines and our crus communaux. This tour combines architectural heritage and wine, on the banks of the Maine river. Tours and tastings from Tuesday to Saturday at 11am and 3pm, by prior arrangement, from 1 April to 31 October.
