Just a stone's throw from the historic centre of Clisson, the Hellfest site boasts over 20 hectares of uniquely aesthetic scenery, inspired by the world of metal music. The organisers have created a veritable scenography, drawing on artistic, mythological and cultural references, giving the site a strong identity that is unique in France.
Numerous contemporary artists have contributed to this extraordinary space, which is accessible all year round (except during the set-up, festival and dismantling periods, generally from April to mid-July). As soon as you arrive, the tone is set by the spectacular monumental guitar by Jean-François Buisson, who is also behind other emblematic works on the site, such as the Hellfest Tree and the Hellfist.
Inspired by religious, medieval and fantasy worlds, then reinterpreted through the lens of metal culture, the works of art line a space laid out like an unusual garden, both a place for strolling and a veritable open-air museum. A must-see for visitors, the site also hosts sporting and cultural events throughout the year, helping to bring this unique place to life.
Destination Vignoble Nantais offers guided tours to help you understand the history of the site, its works and its development. A unique way to explore this unique artistic universe.
