In this old factory, where machines that are sometimes a hundred years old are still in operation, you'll discover how shoes are made industrially, a skill that is emblematic of the Mauges region! As for the shoe collection, it's full of surprises as you explore the fashions, styles and special features of this essential accessory.

To accompany visitors on their tour of the museum, there are interactive terminals along the way, so that young and old alike can discover the secrets of shoe-making in a fun way (investigation trail and sensory manipulations / terminals translated into English and German).


NEW TEMPORARY EXHIBITION "BETWEEN TWO WATERS"!
From the depths of the oceans to the shores of the sun, the "Between two waters" exhibition explores the relationship between humans and the sea, from its exploitation to the adaptation of our equipment. For example, what are the characteristics of the footwear that have made it possible to cope with the specificities of the aquatic environment? From the "heavy feet" of divers to the famous Jellyfish, it invites us to rediscover how man has tamed the aquatic environment through his footwear and his know-how.
