Overflowing the Loire
Débord de Loire is a major nautical and artistic event celebrating the richness, history and life of the Loire River. Held every three years, it brings together an exceptional fleet over the course of a week – legendary sailing ships, traditional boats, heritage boats and workboats – all taking part in a spectacular nautical parade down the estuary, bringing together up to 200 boats. This parade also crosses the Vignoble Nantais, passing through Divatte-sur-Loire and Saint-Julien-de-Concelles, offering residents and visitors a unique spectacle in the heart of the wine-growing countryside.
But Débord de Loire is much more than just boats: it’s also a popular and cultural festival, with dances, shows, dance workshops, exhibitions, lectures, concerts, street entertainment and convivial moments on the quays and banks of the Loire.
Each edition transforms the estuary and its banks into a veritable living theatre, inviting all generations to rediscover the river, its heritage, and its historical, environmental and social challenges – all while sharing joy, curiosity and conviviality.
