The festival is a true homage to the “Bel Paese”: it highlights the beauty of the town’s landscapes, reminiscent of those of Tivoli, near Rome. Nestled in a green setting, the town of Clisson is transformed into a place of celebration, where its medieval architecture and cobbled streets recall the charm of the Italian borghi*. Visitors are greeted by colourful facades and picturesque views that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Immersion in the heart of Italy

Clisson’s history, architecture and landscapes are all reminders of the Italian influence that shapes its identity. The Les Italiennes de Clisson festival is part of this continuity, making the cobbled streets vibrate to the sound of sunny melodies, awakening the taste buds with authentic flavours, and transporting visitors through spellbinding shows. The architecture of Clisson, inspired by the small farmhouses of central Italy, and its landscapes reminiscent of the Roman countryside, give it a singular charm that lends itself perfectly to the event. Under the centuries-old Halles, in squares lined with red bricks or along the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise, every nook and cranny of the town becomes a stage on which Italian culture is fully expressed.

More firmly rooted in the region

Since its inception, “Les Italiennes” of Clisson festival has continued to evolve and develop. The 2023 edition marked a turning point by extending over a full week, with a variety of events at several venues in the town: the 2025 edition stands out for its openness and collaboration with other towns, notably Nantes. By teaming up with these neighbouring towns, ‘Les Italiennes’ is enriching its programme, offering a variety of activities such as concerts and a conference.

A shared project for the region

The festival is a community project that depends on the commitment of various local players. Institutional partners, such as the Ville de Clisson and the Département de Loire-Atlantique, provide financial and logistical support. Private sponsors also support local culture. What’s more, the festival relies on the commitment of around fifty volunteers to help with organisation and hospitality. Finally, the success of the event depends on the participation of the people of Clisson and visitors, who are invited to come with their families or friends.

A time for sharing and conviviality

“Les Italiennes” of Clisson festival is above all a warm, human event. It’s a festival where people meet, where the passion for Italy brings together all generations. In this festive atmosphere, exchange and sharing are at the heart of every event.
