Description
From the Porte-Vue in Château-Thébaud, enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the Maine valley and the granite cliffs of Pont Caffino. In front of you, Maisdon-sur-Sèvre reveals itself between rock, water and vineyards, offering a spectacular landscape typical of the Vignoble Nantais region.
Located in Château-Thébaud, the Château-Thébaud lookout is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Nantes vineyards. Set almost 45 metres above the Maine valley, it overlooks steep cliffs and offers a bird's-eye view of the meandering river, set between rock faces and wooded hillsides.
From this emblematic viewpoint, you can take in a striking landscape: below, the Maine draws sinuous curves that give structure to the valley, while the vine-growing hillsides stretch upwards, alternating with woodland and granite outcrops. This dialogue between rock, water and vines creates a panorama of rare intensity, both wild and shaped by man.
On a clear day, the light sublimates every detail:
the deep green of the woods,
the changing reflections of the river,
the mineral nuances of the cliffs.
Designed by Savoyard architect Emmanuel Ritz, a specialist in sensitive sites, the lookout is part of the "Le Voyage dans le Vignoble" wine trail.
