Immerse yourself in the heart of an unspoilt natural area, where landscapes, biodiversity and wild landscapes are revealed through the seasons.
A listed site and part of the European Natura 2000 network, the Marais de Goulaine reveals a mosaic of remarkable landscapes: wet meadows, reedbeds, willow groves and alluvial bocage make up a veritable sanctuary of biodiversity.
But to get the full picture, you need to get some height. From the Butte de la Roche, the highest point in the marsh at 47 metres, you can enjoy an exceptional 360° panorama. From this natural promontory, you can see the landscape in all its complexity: below you, stretches of water and meadows intertwine, punctuated by canals and hedgerows, creating an area alive with the rhythm of the seasons. In the early hours of the morning or at dusk, the play of light sublimates the contrasts between the water, the vegetation and the sky, offering a unique immersive experience.
At the foot of this viewpoint, the Maison Bleue is an essential gateway to the marsh. A genuine nature discovery centre, it offers a rich programme of guided tours, nature events and exhibitions all year round, providing a better understanding of the ecological balance of the site, its emblematic species and the issues involved in preserving it. An educational and immersive approach, accessible to all.
Accessible on foot from the Maison Bleue, the Butte de la Roche is an essential stop-off point for admiring and understanding the richness of the Marais de Goulaine.
As the marsh is largely private, boating is prohibited in order to preserve this fragile environment.
