How to get here in the Vignoble Nantais?

Whether you’re arriving from Paris, Bordeaux or a neighbouring town, there are plenty of options for getting to the Vignoble Nantais region with ease.

Access to the Nantes vineyards on the way to a territory on a human scale

Just a few kilometres south-east of Nantes, the Vignoble Nantais is an accessible and welcoming area, easily accessible by train, road or soft routes.

Clisson railway station and other rail access

Want toavoid the car? The train is an excellent, stress-free way of getting to the Vignoble Nantais. Clisson station offers fast, regular connections, and several of the surrounding communes also have stations served by the Nantes-Clisson line.

By bike cycle routes and Loire à Vélo

The Vignoble Nantais is criss-crossed by cycle routes such as the Loire à Vélo. You can also follow local loops that are perfectly suited to two wheels. The paths wind between vineyards, rivers and villages, for a smooth arrival.

By coach & bus regular routes and on-demand services

The ALÉOP regional network provides regular services to several communes in the Vignoble Nantais area. Practical and economical, this mode of transport complements journeys by train or bicycle.

A transport-on-demand service is also available, subject to the conditions in force, to connect less-served areas. A flexible solution, suitable for one-off needs or last-minute journeys.

On foot a slow, sensitive approach

In the Vignoble Nantais region, along the valleys of the Sèvre and Maine rivers, a Grande Randonnée de Pays trail invites you to get out and about. The GR® de Pays Sèvre et Maine – Boucle du Vignoble runs from Nantes to Boussay along the Sèvre Nantaise, and from Nantes to Remouillé along the Maine.

This103km loop,marked in yellow and red, forms a veritable backbone to which many local loops are linked. It passes through contrasting landscapes: rivers, vineyards and wine-growing villages. The route changes with the seasons, between the freshness of the riverbanks and the changing colours of the vineyards.

How to get to Clisson and the Nantes vineyards By car?

At the crossroads of the major western routes, the Vignoble Nantais benefits from a good road network, making it easy to reach from major towns and the Atlantic coast.

  • From Paris: A11, Ancenis exit, then D923 and D763 to Vallet.
  • From Bordeaux: A83, Montbert exit, then D117 to Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine and Clisson.
  • From Poitiers / Nantes / Bretagne / Côte Atlantique:
    • N249, Haute-Goulaine and Vallet exits.
    • N137 and N165 for connections to Brittany.
    • N723 from Pornic, Noirmoutier or coastal resorts.

By plane from Nantes Atlantique

Nantes Atlantique airport is just 30km from the Vignoble Nantais. A shuttle bus will take you to Nantes SNCF station, from where trains or tram-trains leave for Clisson.

Getting around once in the Vignoble Nantais

The region lends itself to soft mobility. Regional coaches, transport on demand and taxis link the communes together.
